About SVCC

Silicon Valley Curling Club

We are a California-registered, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation with the goals to support and develop amateur curling athletes in order to participate in national, international, and Olympic competition.

We run introductory clinics for the public to try the sport and lesson series to develop skills. Our members participate in leagues throughout the year, travel to other clubs for bonspiels (tournaments), and bid to compete in national events such as US Arena National Championships and US Club National Championships. We also host the Silicon Valley Bonspiel annually during Memorial Day weekend.

Our activities are held at Sharks Ice Centers (formerly Solar4America) in San Jose and Fremont. Sharks Ice Curling holds similar activities at Oakland Ice Center. Our friends at the San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club host activities at their curling-only facility in Oakland. And our friends at Granite Curling of California travel all across the Golden State to promote the sport.

SVCC and its members belong to the Mountain Pacific Curling Association, the US Curling Association, and the US Women’s Curling Association.

Association Memberships

SVCC is a member of the US Curling Association (USCA), the Mountain Pacific Curling Association (MoPac), and the US Women’s Curling Association (USWCA).

Board of Directors

The SVCC Board of Directors consists of five members nominated and elected by the SVCC membership. Directors serve for a term of three years, staggered so that no more than two Directors are replaced in any given year. The officer roles of President, Treasurer, and Secretary are assigned annually by vote of the Board of Directors.
